What information do we collect? How do we use it?
When you order, we need to know your name, e-mail address, phone number, mailing and delivery address, credit card number and expiration date. This allows us to process and fulfil your orders and to notify you of your order status. If you are giving a gift to someone, we need to know their name, delivery address and phone number.
When you voluntarily sign up for our E-mail Services, we need only a name and e-mail address - which we use to send the information you requested. The information you volunteer regarding a gift recipient is used solely to fulfil gifts you choose to send to that person.
We collect aggregate information on customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop the design and layout of the store.
We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about changes to the web site, new services and special offers we think you'll find valuable. How does Bon Vivant protect customer information?
When you place orders or access your account information on the web site, we offer the use of a secure server. The secure server software (SSL) uses 128 Bit encryption to protect all information you input before it is sent to us. Confidential information, such as your address, and order history, is stored on Bon Vivant's own database, which is protected against unauthorised access. Your credit card details are not stored after your order has been processed.
What about "cookies"?
"Cookies" are small pieces of information sent by a web server and stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive so it can later be read back from that browser. This allows your browser to remember some specific information. Our cookies enable us to store items in your shopping cart and to identify you on return visits. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser to prevent that.
